What Kinds Of Services Can A Patient Expect From Their Local Dentist?

A local dentist in Lincoln Park, CO, will provide both general and cosmetic dental services. General services include routine cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, root canals, and periodontal treatments. Cosmetic dentistry includes teeth whitening, veneers, crowns, and dental implants.

What Happens During a Routine Vsit

Most people see their dentist twice a year to have their teeth examined and professionally cleaned. During a routine visit, the local dentist in Lincoln Park, CO, will go over the patient’s medical history. They will want to know about any changes in health or medication, for certain conditions and medications can affect the teeth. They may order X-rays.

The dentist will then check the face, mouth, neck, tongue, throat, and gums for signs of oral cancer. They will check the gums for gum disease, and they will examine the patient’s teeth for signs of tooth decay and problems with restorations like crowns or fillings.

The dentist will use special instruments to remove any plaque and tartar. They will then polish the patient’s teeth and may apply fluoride to keep the enamel strong. At the end of the visit, the dentist will ask the patient about their diet and advise them on ways to take better care of their teeth.

CEREC

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, and it is a machine that uses CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) to fabricate tooth restorations like crowns and veneers right in the office. CEREC will take an impression of the patient’s teeth and use that impression to make the needed restoration.

CEREC’s technology makes “same-day crowns” or “crowns in a day” possible. The patient won’t have to wait several weeks for a dental lab to manufacture the crown; CEREC will do that while they wait. The patient will thus be able to get their crown in one visit.
